The Partnership

Keats Engineering and Education are proud to have formed an industry partnership with our sister company Keats Site Services. Together we will support the skills, needs, and ambitions of individual Engineers. We want to drive the training and development of the engineering community and grow the local and national industry. Please see details below about the two courses we currently offer through our City & Guilds accreditation. These courses are only offered to Young People with an Educational Health Care plan.

Level 1 & 2 Certificate in Engineering

Focusing on the major disciplines within engineering, this programme will equip you with the knowledge and skills needed to build a successful career in engineering and advanced manufacturing.

You can choose optional units to suit your chosen career path in mechanical manufacturing engineering. Areas of study may include:

  • Welding

  • Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) processes

  • Plant maintenance

  • Computer Aided Design (CAD)

  • Power supply systems

Learning takes place both in the classroom and in a work-based environment, giving you valuable hands-on experience. Assessment is through a combination of practical tasks, written assignments, and online tests.

Which level is right for me?

Level 1

Ideal for school leavers who are considering a career in engineering. This level provides a basic introduction to engineering principles and practical skills.

Level 2

Suitable for school leavers who already have some engineering knowledge or experience. You will build on your skills and develop a deeper understanding of specific engineering technologies through more practical and technical work.

Level 1 & 2 Qualifications in Welding

City & Guilds welding courses are suitable for all ability levels, from complete beginners to experienced welders looking to develop specialist skills.

Level 1 Welding

Ideal for learners who are new to welding and fabrication. This level introduces welding, metal fabrication, thermal cutting, brazing, and soldering, helping you build core knowledge and practical skills. Qualifications are available as single-unit Awards or larger Certificates and are assessed through practical assignments and an oral knowledge test.

 

Level 2 Welding

Designed for learners with some prior welding or fabrication experience who want to further develop their technical skills. Level 2 qualifications are available as single-unit Awards or Certificates and are assessed through practical assignments and oral knowledge tests for each unit.
